The Department consists of the Divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Urologic Surgery. All of our surgeons are board certified (or are eligible for and pending certification) by an accredited board of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Many of our faculty members are active in leading professional societies and have assumed prestigious positions in academic surgical organizations in this country and abroad.

Continuing Medical Education
Throughout the year, Department of Surgery faculty members chair programs and courses in a range of surgical areas. These include the Annual Anderson-Newton Lecture in Transplantation in the fall and the Annual Refresher Course and Update in General Surgery in the winter. Our faculty members also offer a number of online CME courses through the Office of Continuing Medical Education at Washington University School of Medicine.
