Meet Our Coordinator

Michele Bowman is the residency coordinator for the General Surgery Residency Training Program at Washington University School of Medicine. In 2009, she was named Surgery Residency Coordinator of the Year by the Association of Residency Coordinators in Surgery. She was nominated by General Surgery Residency Program Director Mary Klingensmith, M.D., and Associate Program Director Brad Freeman, M.D., and was selected by a committee of her peers for this award. This national award is given to the one coordinator deemed to have made the most significant contributions to surgery resident education. When Michele was given the award, the president of the Association of Residency Coordinators in Surgery stated, “Michele is recognized for her 25 years as a coordinator and has shown extreme dedication to her work and to her residents. She is highly regarded by her peers, both locally and nationally, and by her residents, who are grateful for the ‘home’ atmosphere she works hard to establish in her office.”
