Research Interests

Dr. Wood directs the Peripheral Nerve Research Laboratory at Washington University School of Medicine. He is interested in the study of peripheral nerve injury and regeneration. To treat and identify peripheral nerve injury, he is actively researching strategies such as cell-based drug delivery, neural tissue engineering, surgical options and targeted imaging to nerve. Specific projects of interest include strategies to identify peripheral nerve injury and regeneration, mechanisms of failure associated with long nerve grafts, and development of relevant therapeutics to treat nerve injury.
