Meet Dr. Figenshau
Dr. R. Sherburne Figenshau is a urologic surgeon specializing in robotic and minimally invasive procedures.
He has expertise in robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, and kidney surgery. Dr. Figenshau earned his medical degree from University of Minnesota. He completed general surgery residency training and urologic surgery residency training at WashU Medicine.
Not every cancer necessarily needs to be treated aggressively, especially the types of cancers that I deal with. Oftentimes those are slow-growing cancers and we do a fair amount of active surveillance, which can be comforting for a lot of people. Nowadays, there’s shared decision-making between the physician and the patient. Siteman offers a broad variety of options for treatment.
