Manager, Surgical Education
Leanna joined the Department of Surgery in September 2017. She is responsible for managing the Office of Surgical Education and collaborating with surgery faculty members to integrate innovative technology and educational initiatives into resident training. Prior to joining the department, she coordinated the Emergency Medicine Residency Program and worked in the Office of Medical Student Education. Leanna is a proud alumna of Washington University in St. Louis, completing a B.S. in psychology and an M.A. in human resource management.
Cheryl joined the Department of Surgery in December 2012. She supports the Office of Surgical Education, the General Surgery Residency Program, and Vice Chair for Education Mary Klingensmith, MD. Some of Cheryl’s main responsibilities are coordinating the medical students’ Surgery Clerkship, managing residency verifications for graduates and moonlighters, administering CME credits and assisting with recruiting, graduation and orientation. Prior to joining the department, she worked at Sisters of Mercy in the Departments of HR Shared Services and Finance Operations. Cheryl recently completed the Administrative Professional Certification Program.
