The Department of Surgery at WashU Medicine is an academic surgery department with a threefold mission of providing advanced surgical care, conducting research, and training surgical residents and fellows.
Our department is home to 200+ faculty across eight divisions. Our skilled surgeons are WashU Medicine physicians, providing comprehensive patient care across surgical subspecialties. Our investigators lead research laboratories dedicated to advancing human health, with funding from the National Institutes of Health and other funding sources. Our residency and fellowship programs train the next generation of surgical experts in a high volume center.
