Michael Keirsey, MD, joins the section of Acute and Critical Care Surgery as assistant professor of surgery.
Keirsey has served as an instructor during his fellowship, leading a section of the ASSET Course in August. He has served as a voluntary clinical assistant professor of surgery in the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS) program.
Keirsey earned his medical degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2018. He completed general surgery residency at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis in 2023 and his acute care surgery fellowship at WashU Medicine earlier this summer. Keirsey was part of the Resident Education Committee for the Department of Surgery and received the Chief Resident Teaching Award at UTHSC. Keirsey has been a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) since 2019.
