Meet Dr. Kirby

Dr. John Kirby is a trauma surgeon specializing in wound healing.

He has expertise in acute care surgery, wound healing, necrotizing fasciitis, hyperbaric, oxygen, multisystem organ dysfunction, organ failure, sepsis, and shock.

Dr. Kirby earned his medical degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He completed general surgery residency training and a surgical critical care and trauma fellowship at University of Illinois at Chicago.

Both cellular and acellular tissue scaffolds and matrices represent new techniques for study in wound care. These techniques are going to help our program continue to highlight the collaborations that advance the cutting edges in tissue resuscitation and regeneration for multi-specialty wound care in complex wounds and limb preservation.
