Terence Myckatyn, MD, and Marissa Tenenbaum, MD, from the Department of Surgery at WashU Medicine have been named in Newsweek’s 2025 list of “America’s Best Plastic Surgeons.”
The media company compiled the list in partnership with data firm Statista, Inc., based on a national survey. The list was published online.

Tenenbaum and Myckatyn on being named among the best plastic surgeons in the country,” said Justin Sacks, MD, MBA, director of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at WashU Medicine. “This recognition reflects their commitment to excellence in aesthetic surgery and compassionate, comprehensive patient care.”
Myckatyn and Tenenbaum, who are also consistently ranked among the best doctors by St. Louis Magazine, lead West County Plastic Surgeons of Washington University.
Myckatyn serves as director of breast surgery at WashU Medicine. His clinical focus is on all areas of cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction. Myckatyn earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia and completed plastic surgery residency and fellowship training at WashU Medicine.
Tenenbaum specializes in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body. In addition to her clinical practice, she previously served as director of the integrated plastic surgery residency program at WashU Medicine and continues to be recognized as a leader in plastic surgery training. Tenenbaum earned her medical degree from WashU Medicine, where she also completed residency training. She completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship at University of Southern California School of Medicine in Maria del Rey.
In an article announcing the list of leading doctors, Newsweek noted that “As demand increases, so does the need for trusted, high-quality care.”
