Research Interests
Dr. Liu is an epidemiologist whose primary research focuses are in the areas of breast cancer prevention and prognosis and cancer disparities. Specifically, Dr. Liu’s research includes (1) early life factors (e.g., growth and developmental factors, diet, lifestyle) in childhood and adolescence that are associated with risk of breast cancer and its intermediate risk markers, (2) biomarkers that are associated with the progression of premalignant breast diseases, (3) barriers to high-quality cancer care in cancer patients on Medicaid and their associated cancer outcomes, (4) the roles of patients, providers, and neighborhoods in cancer disparities, and (5) cancer risk prediction models.
