In support of its mission to further advance high-quality vascular research and care, the Section of Vascular Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis recently partnered with the Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) Foundation as a Vascular Innovation Partner (VIP) and founding member.
The Section of Vascular Surgery has a longstanding history as a cornerstone of innovation in the field of vascular medicine. Since its establishment in 1983, the section has tirelessly fostered leading-edge care, education and research. WUMS vascular surgeons have led multiple clinical trials of innovative treatments for vascular disorders, and researchers within the section have achieved national and international recognition for their advances in our understanding of the biologic mechanisms of these disease processes. As a VIP and founding member of the SVS Foundation, Washington University surgeons and researchers will be further supported in their endeavors to constantly improve care and outcomes for vascular patients.
The SVS Foundation partners with researchers to promote innovation and foster growth within the field to optimize care for vascular health. Surgeons associated with SVS are provided with opportunities, support, and funding to lead the charge of discovery and delivery of safe, accessible, and leading-edge care to their patients. SVS VIPs forge connections between nationally ranked vascular surgery programs to promote collaboration and ultimately lead to new discoveries with the potential to change the face of vascular surgery.
